Chery to establish global EV R&D center in Taiwan
Chinese automaker Chery Automobile is aiming to establish a global electric vehicle (EV) research and development (R&D) center in Taiwan, reports China Economic News Service. The automaker is expected to make a formal announcement about the new center at the Cross-Strait Economic Co-Operation Framework Agreement (ECFA) meeting later this month. Local sources claim that Chery will build the R&D center at the Green Energy Intelligent Vehicle Innovation Park (EV Park) in Taiwan’s Changhua Coastal Industrial Area to make use of the raw material and manpower resources in the vicinity.
