Total Appoints Management Committee for Its New Supply-Marketing Division
30 January 2012 – Following the Total Group’s recent organization, the Management Committee of the newly created Supply-Marketing division, led by Philippe Boisseau, consists of:
- Odile de Damas-Nottin, Senior Vice President, Human Resources1,
- François Dehodencq, Senior Vice President, Asia-Pacific,
- Miguel del Marmol, Senior Vice President, Supply Logistics,
- Francis Jan, Senior Vice President, Specialties, Latin America/Caribbean, Northern, Central and Eastern Europe, and the CIS2,
- Benoît Luc, Senior Vice President, Europe,
- Momar Nguer, Senior Vice President, Africa/Middle East,
- Jérôme Paré, Senior Vice President, Strategy, Development, Research,
- Jérôme Schmitt, Senior Vice President, Corporate Affairs.
Odile de Damas-Nottin joined in the Group in 1982, as a Market Researcher in the Sales & Marketing Department. After moving to the French Retail Network, she successively held the positions of Sales & Marketing Manager reporting to the Regional Vice President, Sales Manager and Sales Promotion Manager.
In 1991, she moved to Human Resources, heading the Corporate Training Department.
She later served as Head of Administration & Financial Control in the Procurement Logistics Department, part of the Corporate Finance Department.
In 2000, Ms. de Damas-Nottin became Career Management Coordinator for Specialties in the Refining-Marketing division, subsequently leading the project to increase the number of women senior managers in the Refining-Marketing division. Three years later, she was named Vice President, Recruitment & School-to-Work Transition in the Human Resources & Corporate Communications Department. In 2005, she was appointed Vice President, Career Management.
She has served as Vice President, Compensation, Employee Benefits & Expatriation at Total since 2007.
Effective February 13, she is appointed Senior Vice President, Human Resources of Total’s Supply-Marketing division.
Ms. de Damas-Nottin, 51, is a graduate of the Paris business school in France.
François Dehodencq joined Total in 1980 as a Headquarters Marketing Advisor, before going on to hold a variety of positions in the Strategy, Marketing and Sales Departments.
Subsequently, he was named Managing Director of Total Zimbabwe in 1993 and of Total Maroc in 1994. In 1998, he was appointed Managing Director of Total South East Asia, based in Singapore.
He returned to France in August 2000 as Project Leader, Responsible for Strategy for the Retail Network in France. Mr. Dehodencq served as Director of Operations for Total’s North African subsidiaries from 2002 to 2006. He was named CEO of Total Lubricants in 2006.
He was appointed Senior Vice President, Asia-Pacific of Total’s Refining-Marketing division in September 2011. He was appointed to the same position in the Supply Marketing division on January 2, 2012.
Mr. Dehodencq, 55, is a graduate of the Rouen Business School in France and also holds an advanced accounting diploma.
Miguel del Marmol began his career in 1981 at PetroFina in the United Kingdom as a refinery economics planner for the Lindsey Oil refinery and Petroleum Product Trader. He was subsequently Responsible for Refinery Economics Planning at PetroFina’s European facilities.
In 1987, Mr. del Marmol was appointed CEO of PetroFina Trading Services in New York. A year later, he took the responsibility for purchasing crude oil for PetroFina in Europe. He later held various Senior Management positions at PetroFina in Singapore and Brussels. He became CEO of FINA France in 1992.
In 1999, he was appointed Senior Vice President, Specialties at TotalFina in Paris.
He was appointed COO and CEO of Total Belgium in 2002.
In 2009, he became Senior Vice President, Oil Sales & Marketing at CEPSA in Madrid. Two years later, he was appointed Senior Vice President, New Business in Total’s Refining-Marketing division. He was appointed Senior Vice President of Supply Logistics in the Supply-Marketing division on January 2, 2012.
Mr. del Marmol, 55, holds a degree in business engineering from the Institut Catholique des Hautes Etudes Commerciales business school in Brussels, Belgium.
Francis Jan joined Total in 1980. He held a variety of Sales, Supply Chain and Marketing positions in the Refining-Marketing division before being appointed Vice President, Retail Network in 1997, then Vice President, West Africa in 2000, still in the Refining Marketing division.
He served as CEO of TotalGaz from 2002 to 2006.
He was appointed Senior Vice President, Specialties for Latin America/Caribbean, Northern, Central and Eastern Europe, and the CIS of Total’s Refining-Marketing division in 2006. He was appointed to the same position in the Supply-Marketing division on January 2, 2012.
Mr. Jan, 55, is a graduate of the ESCAE business school in Dijon, France. He also holds an advanced accounting diploma and a postgraduate diploma in business law.
Benoît Luc joined Total France in 1984, after beginning his career as a Technical Cooperation Engineer in Morocco. He was appointed International Fuel Card Project Manager for Europe in 1990.
In 1993, he was assigned to Petrogal in Portugal as Vice President, Commercial Sales. Two years later, Mr. Luc was named Vice President, Business Development & Strategy for Africa/Middle East.
He became CEO of Total Oil Turkiye in 1996.
In 1999, he was appointed as Senior Vice President, Marketing Development of Total and later holding the same position at TotalFinaElf.
In 2001, he was named COO and CEO of Total Italia.
In 2007, he was appointed Senior Vice President, Strategy, Development, Research of Total’s Refining-Marketing division.
He was appointed Senior Vice President Europe in the Supply-Marketing division on January 2, 2012.
Mr. Luc, 55, is a Civil Engineer graduate of the Ecole Spéciale des Travaux Publics, du Bâtiment et de l’Industrie (ESTP) in Paris and holds an undergraduate degree in economics.
Momar Nguer began his career in 1982 in Hewlett Packard France’s Finance Department. He joined Total in 1984, serving in various Downstream positions. After a period at Total Africa’s headquarters, he was named Vice President, Marketing at Total Senegal in 1985. Returning to Paris headquarters in 1991, he was appointed Vice President, Retail Network & Consumers at Total Africa.
In 1995, Mr. Nguer became Chief Executive Officer of Marketing Subsidiary Total Cameroun and was subsequently named Chief Executive Officer of Marketing Subsidiary Total Kenya in 1997.
In 2000, he was appointed Executive Vice President, Total East Africa & Indian Ocean in Total’s Refining-Marketing division.
In 2007, he became Vice President, Aviation Fuel.
Since December 15, 2011, he is Senior Vice President, Africa/Middle East at Total Supply Marketing.
Momar Nger, 55, is a graduate of France’s ESSEC business school.
Jérôme Paré joined Total in 1978 in the French Retail Network before being appointed European Retail Network Development Manager in 1989, then Development Manager within the Strategy division of Total Refining-Marketing in 1992.
Mr. Paré was named Sales & Marketing Director for the French Retail Network in 1995. From 1998, he served as Sales & Marketing Director Lubricants and was appointed Vice President Total Lubricants in 2002.
In 2006, Mr. Paré was named Senior Vice President, Marketing France, with responsibilities covering commodity petroleum product logistics and marketing in France.
He was appointed Senior Vice President, Strategy, Business Development Research of Total’s Refining-Marketing division in 2011. Mr. Paré was appointed to the same position in the Supply-Marketing division on January 2, 2012.
Jérôme Paré, 57, is a graduate of the EM Lyon business school in France.
Jérôme Schmitt started his career in Asia before joining the Group’s Finance division in 1992.
He was first in charge of Finance Operations for Exploration-Production projects for the Asia and North-Africa Area and then for South America. He then joined the gas division.
He was then in charge of New Business in the field of gas for the Middle East-Central Asia Area and later appointed Vice-President Gas Development for India, based in Mumbai.
In 2000, Mr. Schmitt was appointed at the Mergers & Acquisition division, in charge of Corporate M&A.
He became Vice-President Investor Relations in 2004.
In 2009, he was appointed Group Treasurer.
Since January 2, 2012, Jérôme Schmitt is Senior Vice President Corporate Affairs at Total Supply-Marketing division.
Jérôme Schmitt, 46, is a Civil Mining Engineer (St.E).
