Over 40 senior figures from the oil and gas industry to address IP Week 2014
The Energy Institute (EI)’s International Petroleum (IP) Week will be held in London on 17-19 February 2014. This event boasts over 40 senior figures on the conference programme, with representatives from Amec, BG Group, BP, ConocoPhillips, Eni, ExxonMobil, Shell, and the US Department of Energy.
IP Week will close with the prestigious IP Week Dinner, which attracts over 1,300 guests from all over the world. The Guest of Honour will be Chris Finlayson, Chief Executive, BG Group.
Louise Kingham OBE FEI, Chief Executive, Energy Institute, says, ‘The theme of this year’s programme is “Managing risk and maximising opportunities”. It highlights the challenges facing the oil and gas industry as it seeks to invest into new territories and new technologies to respond to demand growth, whilst considering health, safety, environmental and geopolitical constraints and the need to find new talent.’
Over the three days, there will be six conference sessions and, new for 2014, there will also be a series of roundtable discussions created for groups of executives who face similar challenges. The aim is to get away from formal presentations and discuss the issues in a boardroom style format. Topics for the roundtable discussions will include carbon capture and storage, the global skills gap, activities in the Eastern Mediterranean, and the Iraq and Kurdistan’s oil and gas sector.
