F&L Asia Ltd. announced its exciting speaker line-up for its annual fuels and lubricants industry conference, F+L Week 2015, to be held at the Pan Pacific Hotel in Singapore on 10-14 March 2015. The landmark annual conference brings together world-renowned speakers and delegates to unleash thought leadership, shape strategic road maps and provide an exceptional networking platform for those belonging to or interacting with the Asia-Pacific fuels and lubricants industry.

“We are pleased to announce the plans for the 2015 conference and look forward to bringing top people in the industry together,” said Vicky Villena-Denton, CEO and Editor-in-Chief of F&L Asia Ltd., the major industry publisher that puts on the popular yearly conference. “This is a great opportunity for those in the industry to learn about new trends, standards and regulations in the market.”

The overarching theme of the 2015 conference is “Thriving in a Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous (VUCA) Environment: Lessons from Market Leaders.” Expert speakers will discuss insightful and thought- provoking topics that relate to the latest end-user market dynamics and fuels and lubricants trends and specifications, as well as the latest industry standards and government regulations. The full-packed 2015 line-up will provide facts, deep insights, forecasts, plans and perspectives from major original equipment manufacturers (OEM’s), government regulators and core industry players such as major oil companies and lubricant and additive manufacturers.

Of specific note, the F+L Week 2015 program includes renowned industry figures, including Local Motors CEO Jay Rogers, who will deliver a riveting keynote address on 3D Printing in the Automotive Industry, and General Motors’ Angela Willis, who will provide an OEM perspective on fuel economy and the role of engine oils. Other featured presenters will include OEM speakers from Toyota, Chrysler, Bosch, Hino and many others.

Furthermore, global industry giants will provide deep market and engineering insights, including Fuchs Petrolub’s Apu Gosalia, who will discuss the sustainability of the Asian lubricants industry and ExxonMobil’s Ken Lim who will discuss the latest developments on marine fuels.

Speakers from Indian Oil Corporation, Petroleum Authority of Thailand (PTT), ISP, Nynas, Novvi and many others will address such topics as fuel economy, industrial specialties, low viscosity engine oils, European lubricant testing, base oil blends in grease formulations, and renewable base oils. Major Asian state regulators will also present their individual national plans on fuel quality and vehicle emissions, alongside harmonisation in fuel quality standards in Asia.
On 11-12 March, there will be a two-day exhibition to showcase the best available laboratory instruments, base oils and fuels and lubricants additive technology and services, alongside commercial presentations by industry suppliers who’ll present their latest products.

The pre-conference workshops on 10 March will feature nine 90-minute modules covering a variety of topics, which include tribology fundamentals, the tribology of the internal combustion engine, the tribology of offshore wind turbines, fatty amines as friction modifiers, molybdenum disulfide in lubricants, base oil interchangeability 101, environmentally acceptable lubricants (EAL), water-mix metalworking fluids and fluid management/zero-waste oil discharge.
“This is the conference that key players in the fuels and lubes industry must attend,” Denton said. “There will be a lot of great contacts made, information shared and trends discussed. The future of the industry starts here.”

On 14 March 2015, there will be a post-conference golf charity event to be held at the Ria Bintan Golf Club in Indonesia. Delegates will conclude their conference by taking part in the event, golfing over the pristine white beaches of Indonesia.
