NDRC approves Ningxia refinery expansion

China National Petroleum Corp. (CNPC) has received approval from the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), China’s top economic planner, to expand and upgrade its 1.5 million metric ton per year Ningxia refinery in northwest China. The expansion project, which involves an investment of more than seven billion yuan (US$1.03 billion) is due to be completed by the end of 2010. (December 15, 2009)
